It's been nearly 21 years since the invention of the T20 format. How are you? Is everything ok at home? Do you now wear a shiny pink kit on Wednesday night while you play in the ‘Superchargers League’? Yeah, me too. The IPL schedule now controls my summer. But, it's ok. Because we can now enjoy Bazball, reverse scoops and a six every other ball. Nothing makes you understand T20s seismic cultural impact like watching a man in his 60s trying to paddle a shot on Sunday morning. The Spirit of cricket can f*ck off. Welcome to the new world. Get in or get off.

In an era where we prepared for Indian domination, we’re yet to wave in the new generation. Their franchise tournament loses Cricket Australia money. While we at Twenty Two Yards would love to dive in, we know someone who can do a better job: Sumanta Sen. His brilliant visual article last week in Reuters is the place to go. It’s the deep-dive you deserve.

India’s New Head Coach Puppet Master

The (now) three-time IPL winner as head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders is a popular choice for Indian cricket fans for obvious reasons. We just hope he can sing and dance to the tune of the notoriously demanding BCCI.
